SIZING/FIT
The Mister Freedom Malibu's comes raw/unwashed, and will shrink to tagged size. Follow the usual recommended initial method before wearing: cold soak for 30mn, spin dry and line dry. Please refer to sizing chart to determine which size works for you.
CL's Advice: I am usually a tagged Waist 32 in mfsc jeans, and went with a tagged Waist 31 with the Malibus Sea (with no heat dryer.)
The Malibus fit pretty slim, our slimmest silhouette so far. The side tabs allow 1 extra cinch in the waist, when both snapped to the tightest position.
I am personally partial to the flood look, as opposed to modern stacking effect, and also think these look better not cuffed. Because leg creases tend to pull the fabric up with wear, it is a good idea to test wear the Malibus hem folded inside for a while, and adjust the length to your liking before getting them cut and hemmed. Please note that the original bottom hem of the Malibus is made by a single stitch machine.
CARE
Hand wash or machine wash on delicate, cold water, minimal eco-friendly detergent. Turn inside-out to avoid marbling of the fabric. Line dry only.
This fabric will develop attractive patina over time, according to the owners activities, frequency of wear and laundering choices.
STORY
The Malibu's, an MF tribute to late 50s early 60s popular stovepipe type jeans. Originally a popular style among young adults and the usual suspects in Hollywood, the slim cut "wheat jeans" made their way around campuses and off screen breaks during the 60's.
For this iteration, we developed an indigo-dyed denim to match the washed-out indigo blue shade ever present in old sea-faring metrocolor movies and TV shows. Resulting in a beautiful and unique selvedge denim, that will develop an attractive patina over time.
This MF garment is designed and manufactured in California by Mister Freedom, in collaboration with Sugar Cane Co.
